Classification and Labelling of Substances and Mixtures

Differing national and European legislation regarding marketing and transport of substances and mixtures make necessary to analyze the hazards and classify, label and package according to a harmonised criteria.

Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) set out the obligations and criteria for the classification and labelling of dangerous substances and mixtures marketed.

Furthermore, the European Regulation on transport of dangerous goods by road, Marpol, etc., also defines obligations for the classification of substances and mixtures.

The trust achieved by REACH Integra for correct classification and labelling is based on their experience accumulated in the use and collection of information on the physicochemical properties and eco-toxicological effects of substances and their interrelationships found in mixtures.

In each project REACH Integra applies their experience in the use of classification and labelling criteria to all types of substances and mixtures that are manufactured and used in a multitude of sectors, as well as in the classification of process streams, which together with the following capacities, allows realistic classifications:

  • Using techniques for identifying properties and effects based on structural alerts
  • Using alternative methods, QS(A)AR, etc., to generate valid information to classify substances
  • Defining test strategies and selecting specific tests
